News of the month July 2019
The global logistics and customs market has always been known for its very diverse, daily upcoming but interesting challenges – as an employer, Airfreight Express GmbH proactively takes initiative to diminish the effect of lacking skilled employees.

Therefore, the Managing Director embedded an interesting feature in order to attract young talent – internships for two different education levels. As part of his school internship, Finn Zehentbauer had the chance to experience the daily business for one week. According to the Managing Director, job orientation already starts at young age. The target is to continue to invite interested newcomers to an internship. “Especially universities are known for building a thriving workforce for the future”, adds the businessman. That’s why Amariot Singh from India started a six month internship at Airfreight Express in April, preparing his master’s thesis.
The whole team was passionate about providing deep insights into the market for the two young men. Not an easy job given the load of operational tasks. Indeed, the necessary workflow, all the expert knowledge and flexibility were exemplified in daily actions. For sure, a highlight was the visit of Munich Airport. Through good relationships in the industry, getting access to exclusive parts of the airport made the two young professionals admire the loading hall airport, the ramp as well as the cargo handling process and finally the maintenance hall of Lufthansa.
Especially impressive had been two key experiences: getting direct contact with the huge Airbus A380 and the feeling of entering the cockpit of a “Gulfstream” machine, that happened to be in the maintenance hanger.
